Decarbonizing Transportation Infrastructure: A Roundtable
Leaders across transportation infrastructure face new pressure to show serious commitment to climate action, decarbonization, and sustainability. Savvy leaders must identify opportunities amidst threats and distractions, prioritize and pace sustainability efforts, and engage reluctant stakeholders in change. There’s no reason to do it alone.
The Climate Board, in partnership with Transurban, a leading road developer and operator, convened an invitation-only executive roundtable of transportation infrastructure leaders to navigate these complex choices. Participants had the opportunity to discuss issues of shared concern with executive-level peers and partners including toll road owners and operators, designers, contractors, suppliers, investors, and government leaders.
This two-hour session gave participants the chance to hear both challenges and successes from stakeholders across the transportation infrastructure industry. Guided by light facilitation from The Climate Board and its experts, participants enjoyed opportunities for networking, collaborative discussion, and best practice sharing. Discussion themes included:
-
Understanding and myth-busting market pressures for a decarbonized supply chain
-
Identifying the highest-leverage decision points affecting both sustainability AND profitability
-
Building momentum for multi-stakeholder action
